Since I’m based in Los Angeles and write frequently for the Los Angeles Times’ HOME section, I am thrilled that my editor Craig Nakano gave me the green light on a green flower story that I proposed.

My story, “Organic flowers for Valentine’s Day? Why some shoppers are buying green instead of red this year,” appears in today’s online “LA at Home” blog. It features several voices from the California flower growing and floral design world.

Read about how America’s largest flower holiday – Valentine’s Day – is starting to embrace the environmental concerns of seasonal, local, organic and sustainable floral design.
